Final Standings of 1914 Cactus Derby

This content was extracted from Barney Oldfield's scrapbook and as with most from that source the clippings have the name of the original newspaper snipped off. For researchers the single most useful piece of information is a results table presenting the final standings of the 1914 Los Angeles to Phoenix "Cactus Derby" off-road race won by Oldfield. An interesting sidelight is a story about the "Times Scout" Buick press car. Exactly how this car was used during the race or in events surrounding it is unclear, but apparently it drove at least portions of the course to help reporters for the Los Angeles Times cover the event.
