1911 Indianapolis 500 champ Ray Harroun is alive again in the new book, "The Legend of the First Super Speedway," (

Some early images from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

This is an interesting split image of race cars scorching the brick straightaway at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and also the recently constructed garages at the track. These photos appeared in the December 12, 1909 Indianapolis Star.
