This image was originally published in the May 27, 1911 Indianapolis Sun. Most images you see of Ray Harroun are with him wearing a dust cap. Welcome to one that doesn't. Interesting, too, just how many articles and photos were printed of Harroun during during the month of May, 1911. Most noted that he was a favorite to win the race. He was easily one of the most photographed drivers, even prior to winning the first Indianapolis 500.
