Balloonist A.H. Morgan

The June 5, 1909 national championship balloon race hosted by the Indianapolis Motor Speedway had a field packed with talented competitors. This image is of A.H. Morgan the pilot of the Cleveland balloon. Morgan was reportedly a millionaire from Mound City, Kansas. His assistant was J.H. Wade, Jr. This image appeared in the June 4, 1909 Indianapolis News with photos of other pilots and their assistants. Below are links to those photos as well as others of the competitors that were published in the Indianapolis Star the same day.

Check out this other image of Morgan elsewhere on First Super Speedway. Not sure what this means but the two images look like different people. I would like to see yet another photo.
