Joe Petrali

What you see here is American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) Hall-of-Fame Harley-Davidson racer Joe Petrali, after winning a 100-mile feature race at the dangerous Altoona board track speedway on July 4, 1925. Petrali was the most celebrated rider of his era - 1920s/30s - and is still regarded as among the very best of all time. Later in his career he became a team crew chief for races of the Indianapolis 500.
