Murphy in 1924

This image is of 1922 Indianapolis 500 champion Jimmy Murphy in September 1924. It was the same month that cost the sport 1924 Indianapolis 500 champion Joe Boyer's life. Murphy  won at Altoona that month and then suffered fatal injuries on September 15 after a brutal accident on the Syracuse dirt mile.
