Sink Defeats Cannon Ball Baker

This image of motorcycle rider John Sink was published in the December 1, 1909, Indianapolis News. The occasion was a 100-mile match race against Erwin G. Baker, who would later become known by the nickname, "Cannon Ball" Baker. As noted in the copy supporting the original photograph, Sink won the contest. It was reportedly his first victory in several match races against Baker. The event took place at the Indiana State Fairgrounds on Saturday, November 27.
