Tech Inspection in 1913

The original source reports this photo is of a technical inspection at the 1913 French Grand Prix at Amiens. The race was won by Georges Boillot who was one of Europe's brightest pre-World War I racing stars. Boillot was the fastest qualifier for the 1914 Indianapolis 500, his only appearance in that phenomenally historic race. Tragically, Boillot, a pilot, lost his life in a World War I dogfight over Verdun in 1916.
