Tom Mix Racing Movie

Tom Mix was a top box office draw from 1920s Hollywood. His genre was Wild West tales where he played cowboy roles. This advertisement is for a departure from his accustomed role to that of a race driver. The movie was, "The Road Demon," (1920). A supporting article appeared in the May 22,1921 Fort Wayne Journal-Gazette and you can read it here. The ad encourages people to stay in Fort Wayne instead of heading to Indianapolis for the 1921 "500." The pitch was that you didn't have to travel to get your racing fix.
