Carl Graham Fisher

These are photos of Carl Fisher in the years he spent racing cars. Limited by poor eyesight, Carl never rose to the heights of some of his contemporaries such as Barney Oldfield and Earl Kiser, he did have his moments, such as his world track record for lightweight machines.

Fisher Driving Apparel

This is a unique ad that ran in the June 20, 1909 Indianapolis Star and was purchased by the Fisher Automobile Company to promote their line of driving apparel. While fashion was a consideration but also very much utilitarian. Cars of the day - as depicted in the art in the ad - were open air leaving driver and passengers exposed to the elements.
