Carl Graham Fisher

These are photos of Carl Fisher in the years he spent racing cars. Limited by poor eyesight, Carl never rose to the heights of some of his contemporaries such as Barney Oldfield and Earl Kiser, he did have his moments, such as his world track record for lightweight machines.

Fisher Boating Cup

This is an image of a loving cup that appeared in the July 9, 1907 Indianapolis Star. There were few details but the caption indicates that Carl Fisher was organizing a speedboat competition in the Broad Ripple villiage of Indianapolis. Fisher had a boat that he raced, which he named, "Eph." It's pure speculation on my part but I can only guess that the name was the phonetic pronunciation of the first letter of Carl's last name.
