Image of The Week
Here's another image from the Phil Sheedy collection - and it is a bit of a mystery. The best information we have is that this shot took place at a board track in Charlotte, North Carolina and the driver of the car was Indianapolis 500 veteran, Tony Gulotta. The entrant is identified as 1925 Indianapolis 500 winner Peter DePaolo. The photo is believed to be from 1926, a year when the Charlotte Speedway (located in Pineville) hosted three stops on the national championship trail.
