Walter Brookins and His Father

This photo shows 21-year-old Walter Brookins walking with his father at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway during the track's only airplane show in June 1910. Walter Brookins flew for the Wright Brothers and was the brightest star of week-long affair from Monday June 13 through Saturday June 18. It is interesting to note that according to Wikipedia, Father's Day was first suggested on June 19, 1910.
 
The caption with the picture reads as follows:
 
"Walter S. Brookins, With His Father On His Right - The father of Walter S. Brookins, the star aviator of the Wright corps is his constant companion before and after his flights. Naturally, the parent is anxious while the son is soaring through the clouds, and he always greets him warmly at the completion of flights."
