News Items of Old

09/11/2009

Hanging out at the Yahoo Auto Racing Group as I do occasionally, a gentleman by the name of Bill Blaylock flagged some interesting items from Time Magazine in years long gone. All considered Indianapolis 500s from the 1930's. My favorite quote came from Billy Arnold, after he was told someone stole his passenger car from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway infield on the day he won the 1930 Indianapolis 500.

Said Speedster Arnold: "I'd like to find whoever took it. I'd give him a title to the darn thing."
