Image of The Week

This is a nice pen and ink drawing of the faces of the drivers from the 1923 Indianapolis 500. This race was noteworthy for a couple of reasons. One, this was the first time a driver became a multiple winner of the Indianapolis 500: Tommy Milton. Ironically, and a story far less told is the drive of 1919 winner Howdy Wilcox, who, in acting as a relief driver for Milton, also drove the winning car in the great speed classic for a second time. A true unsung hero that year.
