Auto Show "Teeter" Contest - 1910

This image first appeared in the April 3, 1910 Indianapolis Star. It shows a competitor in one of the "skill" events that were staged at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway the week prior during the March 1910 Indianapolis Automobile Show. It illustrates one of the many strange tests of driver and machine that was staged for trophy awards. This depicts the "teeter" contest where competitors drove their vehicles onto a teeter-totter and sought balance. Check out an image of one of the other competitors, the Premier entry.

The cutline on the original photo read: "Burt Bronson in Austin: First prize for the successful Speedway performances during the auto show last week was won by Bert Bronson in an Austin car. He was one of the few to perform the teeter stunt."
