Earl Cooper

This photo of Earl Cooper from 1924 when he finished second in the Indianapolis 500. Cooper was one of the great drivers that probably should have won the Greatest Spectacle in Racing, but it somehow slipped from his grasp. He competed in seven Indy 500s, with a fourth-place finish in 1915 to go with the second in 1924. He started on the pole at Indy in his final Indianapolis 500 in 1926.
