Image of The Week

This image is associated with the National Motor Vehicle Company brochure in the books category of firstsuperspeedway.com. The painting is purported to record the seminal brainstorming session among the four founders of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (Carl Fisher, Arthur Newby, James Allison and Frank Wheeler) as they conceive the construction of the giant testing facility. The time was November 1905 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds track during a 24 hour distance record setting run by two of Newby's National stock cars.
