500 Miles too Long for One Driver?

07/11/2009

I just loaded a very brief article that presents some interesting quotes from Ray Harroun shortly after winning the inaugural Indianapolis 500 on May 30, 1911. Harroun seems to contradict himself when he says that he never tired while leading the race, but that 500 miles was too great a distance to ever consider driving without relief. Harroun was spotted by relief driver Cyrus Patschke.
