Barney Oldfield Scrapbook Overview

Barney Oldfield’s personal scrapbook is preserved on microfilm at the LA84 Foundation in Los Angeles. Follow the link, click “online catalog,” and search for Barney Oldfield. While there is an impressive amount of content in the scrapbook, its original organization was extremely poor. Articles were pasted on top of each other and crammed into pages without regard for chronological order. An article from 1904 might be pasted on the same page as an article from 1916. Few of the articles are even dated, and I use my understanding of the chronology of events to organize them. I am still sifting through what I photocopied and sorting the material. Also, the reproduction of these articles onto microfilm was fair to poor. It requires patience to read them.
