Cincinnati Speedway Race

This article is pre-race coverage of the 300-mile race at the new Cincinnati Speedway board track staged the week before the Indianapolis Motor Speedway's Harvest Classic. Johnny Aitken won this major contest as well. Favorite Dario Resta suffered engine failure so severe he could not compete at the Brickyard. The Cincinnati race took its toll on equipment and affected the performance of even the entires that made it to Indianapolis. Winner Aitken's car was tired and broke a steering arm late in the 100 mile feature at the Brickyard. This article was published September 4, 1916.
