Robertson & New Orleans

The article in attachment Robertson 111409 was originally published in the November 14, 1909 Indianapolis Star. The central point of the article was to share that one of the top driving stars of the day, George Robertson, was officially entered in the upcoming (November 21 & 22) New Orleans Automobile Club race meet ran in conjunction with the Louisiana Good Roads Convention. When the event was finally conducted Ray Harroun and Barney Oldfield emerged as the big stars.
 
Among Robertson's credits mentioned are his victories in the 1908 Vanderbilt Cup, the 1908 and 1909 Fairmount Park Cups, the Lowell National Cup and two 24-hour races at Brighton Beach. American Automobile Association (AAA) official starter Fred J. Wagner is noted as releasing this information. Robertson was entered in a Simplex race car.
 
The article stresses that the Louisiana race would feature several top drivers but does not mention other names aside from Lewis Strang who was entered with a Fiat. AAA Secretary Homer George is also mentioned as an event organizer.
