Fisher's Track Dreams - 1905

This is a hugely important article that sets the basic date by which Carl Fisher had begun planning a giant speedway. This article was published in the Indianapolis Star on December 17, 1905. That date is significant in that it substantiates that such a speedway was conceived of by Fisher nearly two years before the Brooklands closed circuit, high banked speedway was built in England.

This article also presents fascinating information on the standing of Indianapolis as a capital of automobile production, detailing the production quotas and associated sales revenue expected in 1906.
